Outside Inc is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Growth Marketer to join the Product Marketing Team to focus on the growth of our mapping products (Gaia GPS & Trailforks) - both free users & paid subscribers.

You will work collaboratively with internal teams and agency partners to identify how to best market our subscriptions to the millions of users across both App communities. Focus areas will include acquisition optimization, regular testing & experimentation, from pricing to personalization of messages by audiences & features. You will need to be able to influence your teammates and key stakeholders through your use of data and strategic thinking.

Within 1 month, you will:

  • Audit our lifecycle marketing campaigns and overall product positioning to identify areas for improvement.
  • Familiarize yourself with our MMP (AppsFlyer) implementation as well as other marketing and membership reporting tools like Amplitude.
  • Take over the management of our ASO partner, getting up to speed on historical updates and testing, and begin to identify key areas of opportunity.
  • Build partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Engineering, CRM, Performance Marketing, Brand Marketing Business Intelligence and Creative.
  • Familiarize yourself with our Mapping Product roadmaps, developing a strong understanding of customer pain points and solutions being implemented to drive customer satisfaction

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Optimize lifecycle growth marketing efforts to thoughtfully scale acquisition efforts - from app install, to engaged user, to paid subscriber.
  • Own the strategy and execution of marketing tactics to various audiences across email, in-app, and push.
  • Implement and own marketing attribution reports for key app metrics and subscription growth. This will include collaborating with our business intelligence & data teams to build growth dashboards that provide our cross functional teams with critical insights.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with Marketing, Product, Finance, Creative and Engineering to thoughtfully scale acquisition efforts
  • Work with product and marketing strategy leads to develop surveys that enable us to get a deeper understanding of our app users that can inform our product roadmap insight-driven marketing plans.

Within 12 months, you will:

  • Deeply understand the audiences/personas of each App community, how they use each product, their motivations, and pain points.
  • Know the brand voice of each product and how to effectively message to core users.
  • Have a well-defined roadmap for how to effectively market each product to achieve our subscription goals.
  • Be able to clearly articulate the customer journey, informed by data-driven analysis.
  • Have a systematic and methodical approach to a/b testing marketing tactics, from messaging to price sensitivity.

What you bring to Outside Inc:

  • A love for the outdoors and experience with mapping technologies.
  • 4+ years of experience in direct to consumer subscription/product marketing and managing cross functional teams/partners.
  • A bias for action and proven track record of devising growth campaigns that engage, inform and motivate.
  • Strong hands-on experience with mobile app ad platforms, tools and technology, including App Store, Google Play store, MMPs like AppsFlyer, etc.
  • Understanding of how to execute lifecycle marketing campaigns across email, in-app and push.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally across business units, developing solutions to hard problems, and present a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills with an ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points.
  • Experience with A/B testing and optimizing user funnels.
  • Experience with App referral programs - nice to have.

Entirely remote jobs that could be performed in Colorado: Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $76,000 to $100,000. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission . Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, Flexible Time Away, sick leave, and more.
