At Outside, we’re building a world-class product team to execute on our mission of getting everyone in the world outside more often. As VP of Product Management, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering on our vision of an integrated platform that inspires people to get outdoors, empowers them with tools and information, and rewards them for outdoor activity. You’ll be responsible for building and leading a team of world-class product managers, while collaborating with engineering, product design, data science and marketing to define and ship products that delight users and deliver business results.

What you will do:

  • You will lead and develop a team of strong PMs who ship products we’re proud of and deliver results for the business
  • You will collaborate with the CPO and the CEO on Outside’s multi-product strategy, and translate that into roadmaps for individual product and feature teams
  • You will drive execution in the product org by evolving and managing our product development process in collaboration with engineering leadership
  • You will develop and continually improve a strong product culture at Outside through hypothesis-driven product development, customer research and insight, and data-informed decision making
  • You will collaborate with marketing, sales and customer service to ship new products and features successfully
  • You will work closely with our data analytics team to build appropriate product health dashboards, and to identify opportunities for delivering user growth, engagement and revenue growth through product enhancements

This describes you:

  • You have 10+ years of product management leadership in consumer applications, especially with teams that have shipped products across multiple platforms (web, iOS and Android)
  • You have experience recruiting and growing product management teams, as well as a strong point of view on what makes for a great product manager
  • You pride yourself on being a great manager of PMs, and know how to coach PMs to successful outcomes for their products, and to help them grow in their career
  • You care about product quality, and can point to examples of products you’ve shipped where you’ve collaborated closely with engineering and design to deliver world-class user experiences that customers love
  • You have a passion for customer research, love talking with users, and have experience coaching PMs on how to interview customers and gather their own research
  • You have strong qualitative and quantitative skills, with demonstrated ability to turn research and data into actionable recommendations and product plans
  • You have experience managing multiple products in a portfolio at different points of their lifecycle
  • You are a fundamentally optimistic person, and believe in the power of products to change behavior for the better, and are excited to create products that inspire people to get outside
  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice to have:

  • Experience with subscription business and applications, in media, gaming or consumer productivity tools
  • Experience building and launching new products from zero to one, and then on to product market fit

Entirely remote jobs that could be performed in Colorado: Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $225,000 to $275,000. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission . Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, Flexible Time Away, sick leave, and more.
