Outside, Inc. is seeking a Master of Ceremonies (M.C.) to participate on the Warren Miller Entertainment Film Tour. Warren Miller Entertainment (WME) is one of the largest, most established and successful action sports film companies today, with more than 73 years of snow sports filmmaking experience. The annual Warren Miller Film Tour (from mid-October to mid-December) continues the legacy of the brand, reaching more skiers, snowboarders and outdoor enthusiasts than any other snow sports film to date.

Candidates must have experience hosting in the live event environment. The primary responsibility involves interacting with the audience from the stage, introducing our sponsors, leading the audience through our show, managing prize draws and introducing athletes/sponsors/production crew. This is a crew role that requires the M.C. to be an active member of a 4-person crew in setting up multiple events on a 4–6-week schedule. The M.C. will be required to manage the local backstage theater crew to ensure a flawless presentation is achieved at every venue. Additionally, the M.C. will work in tandem with the other crew members to create a lively event atmosphere utilizing the equipment provided by WME and its sponsors. Management of event equipment and transportation to/from each venue is the responsibility of the crew. There will be travel required. Familiarity with the brand is not required, however an appreciation and familiarity with the winter sports industry and the brands represented is strongly preferred.

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the custom Event Script clearly with the appropriate levels of energy and enthusiasm
  • Manage the venue production staff to deliver the highest quality event possible at each venue
  • Manage event prizing and sponsor integration for each event. Find and create ways to improve the presentation on a day-to-day basis
  • Report back to WME on any other show specific duties as required for pre-show preparation and post-show load out, so WME can improve the tour experience year over year
  • Ensure Sweepstakes entrants information is expeditiously provided to WME and sponsors
  • Manage the secure data capture of customer information and transmit to HQ at Outside
  • Find ways to enroll new O+ Members
  • Bring the Stoke!

Qualifications and Skills:

  • The successful candidate must be highly motivated, resourceful, detail-oriented and display strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to go above-and-beyond without being asked, eliciting critical thinking with recommendations for improvements
  • Passionate, energetic individual who has demonstrated knowledge of keeping up with fast-paced event environment
  • A confident, calm, and professional on-stage demeanor is a must

For this seasonal/temporary role you will be paid $875 per week. In addition, you will be compensated a taxable per diem rate of $65 for scheduled days actively working on the tour.
