Reporting to the CFO, the VP of Financial Analysis and Planning will play a strategic role for forecasting, business planning, management reporting, and business analytics activities across the business. You will work side by side with the executive leadership team and finance leaders to develop business strategies, financial models, and analytical insights.

As the leader of FP&A at Outside Interactive Inc., you will work collaboratively across the organization to build expertise on the active lifestyle industry landscape and nuances, and provide the management team with the needed insight to drive intelligent, sound decision-making. With an air of humility, you bring strong quantitative skills, strategic thinking and sound business judgment, along with the ability to think about what is -- and what could be.

The role will report to the CFO of Outside Interactive Inc. and lead a 3-5 person team.

You will:

  • Direct all planning, forecasting and reporting processes at Outside –both long-term and short-term, including but not limited to Monthly Forecasts, Annual Budget & Long Term Business outlook.
  • Partner with the Outside executive management team to manage business performance and make strategic trade offs to deliver profitable growth
  • Support the Outside management team in assessment and communication of business performance, trends and strategic progress to the business and other stakeholders including the company’s Board of Directors and Investors
  • Partner with business teams in Content, Sales, Marketing, Events, Membership and G&A to develop the right business specific analytical framework for Outside.
  • Provide thought leadership on financial architecture and clarity to management on the direction of the business in terms of Business Segments, Revenues, Resource allocations and Profitability.
  • Recruit, manage and develop a diverse group of finance professionals while providing a strong leadership presence across Outside Finance.
  • Partner with Data & Analytics and BI teams to design and improve finance reporting tools/solutions.
  • Develop and execute on FP&A Operations excellence and long-term strategy, anticipating business growth and complexity, and solving in advance with world-class people/capabilities, processes, reporting and systems.
  • Partner with Corporate Development on M&A and integration of any newly acquired businesses

What YOU bring to Outside:

  • 15+ years of increasingly responsible experience in finance leadership roles with a bias towards quantitative analysis and Financial Planning & Analysis.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive people management experience.
  • Ideal candidates will possess an MBA or other relevant advanced degree from a top tier school, or a bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting/economics from a top tier university combined with an impressive track record.
  • The ideal candidate will combine experience in a larger company with experience in a smaller, fast-growing, early stage, growth oriented company
  • Strong analytical skills, fluency in performing rigorous financial, valuation, and broad quantitative analyses, and familiarity with finance, legal & key operational metrics.
  • An entrepreneurial and self-driven mindset, with the experience to identify & lead continuous improvement opportunities
  • Strong critical thinking skills – you should be comfortable with financial modeling and working with large amounts of data
  • Preference/tendency to use data to form opinions and highlight key trends, as well as focusing deeper analytic analysis to confirm and drive business decisions
  • Superior communication skills - verbal, written & presentation skills with ability to transition seamlessly from complex analyses to simple/precise business implications
  • Strong customer service focus with a sense of urgency and excellent follow through
  • Proven ability to lead & develop teams and talent

Entirely remote jobs that could be performed in Colorado: Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $190,000 to $230,000. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission . Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, Flexible Time Away, sick leave, and more.
